Under this scheme, citizens of the state will have access to healthcare at their doorsteps. The Tamil Nadu doorstep healthcare system has seven districts including Chennai and Coimbatore.

Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam Scheme 2023 (மக்களை தேடி மருத்துவம் திட்டம்)
The state government recently launched the Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam Scheme 2023 to enable the people of Tamil Nadu to access healthcare services at home. The program covers 1172 sub-health centres, 189 primary health centers and safety zone health centres.
All scheme beneficiaries who are unable to visit primary health facilities, private health facilities or government health facilities will have doorstep access to all medicines and other healthcare services.
This will help reduce the spread of infectious diseases and provide the patient with all conventional medical resources.

Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam Scheme Objective
The main objective of this scheme is to provide public health services to patients in their homes. All health and medical services through this program will be provided in the patients’ homes.
The government has set up 1172 sub-health centers, 189 primary health centers and 50 community health centers to encourage improvement in all health
