State Road Transport Corporations like Karnataka Shakti Scheme, NWKRTC and KKRTC will reserve 50% of their seats for men. The citizens of the state can use their identity cards issued by the central or state government while issuing Shakti smart card.
From August, the Karnataka government will reimburse Road Transport Corporations (RTCs) for the free women passenger authorization scheme based on the number of zero tickets issued to passengers.
Starting in August, we decided to pay for tickets in the first week of each month. The June refund will be processed the first week of August.
Timely RTC payments will help businesses and ensure that the system does not become a financial burden. The government has opted to compensate companies for free fares based on Shakti smart card or zero ticket data.
The Karnataka government has launched ‘Karnataka Shakti Scheme’ free transportation for women in KSRTC and BMTC state buses. Inaugurating the event, officials also issued some free passes to women so that they can ride KSRTC and BMTC buses free of cost as part of the “Karnataka Shakti Scheme”.
More than 41.8 million women passengers will benefit from the change. Women in Karnataka can drive government-run buses in the state for free thanks to the Shakti Yojana.
More than 4.18 lakh women will use the free transport service every day. The project will cost the exchequer about Rs 4,051.56 billion annually. All women residing in the state of Karnataka are eligible for this scheme.
