Karnataka Saptapadi Vivah Yojana(ಸಪ್ತಪದಿ ವಿವಾಹ ಯೋಜನೆ)

Karnataka government has launched a new scheme called Karnataka Saptapadi Vivah Yojana or can be called as Mass Marriage Scheme and by implementing this scheme, Karnataka government has promised its citizens to provide Mujrai Mass Marriage Scheme to the deserving ones all unable to afford a beautiful marriage. By implementing the plan, by 2022, more marriages will be arranged for willing couples.

Karnataka government is all set to re-launch Karnataka Karnataka Saptapadi Vivah Yojana after a gap of 2 years. This information was shared by officials on May 13, 2022.

Under this plan, mass marriages will be held on April 28, May 11 and May 25 in selected A-class churches.

The government launched the scheme in 2019 but it was discontinued due to covid-1 The main objective of this scheme is to ensure that poor families do not fall into financial hardship due to high debt.

Couples wishing to take advantage of the program must register with the parish 30 days in advance with the required documentation.

Under this scheme, a financial assistance of Rs 55,000 including 8 grams of gold thali mangalsutra, Rs 1,000 for the bride and Rs 5,000 for the groom has been provided.

The temples selected under this scheme include Banashankari, Gavi Gangadhareshwara, Kadu Maleshwara and Dodda Ganapati

Benefits Of Karnataka Saptapadi Vivah Yojana

• One of the main advantages of the plan is the implementation of multiple marriages for the country’s poor.
• Each couple will also reportedly be given a total of Sh55,000 to hold their financial expenses.
• 55000 rupees incentive will include the following things:-
• Mangalsutra worth Rs. 40,000 for the bride.
• Rs. 5,000 in Cash to Groom
• Rs. 10,000 in Cash to Bride

Karnataka Saptapadi Vivah Yojana Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants should be permanent and legal residents of the State of Karnataka.
• The wedding ceremony will be held in selected churches only.
• The marriage will take place only if the parents of the bride and groom are present at the ceremony.
• This policy does not apply to persons entering into a love marriage.
• The bride must be 18 years of age or older.
• Groom must be 21 years of age or older.
• The provision applies only to Hindu marriages.

Application Process Of Karnataka Saptapadi Vivah Yojana

• As mentioned above, the system application process is in offline mode.
• So if an applicant wants to enroll in the scheme, he/she should first check the list of temples which are offering incentives from the scheme.
• He should go to the nearest church.
• The temple authorities will then give the applicant his name card.
• The applicant must fill in details of the bride and groom.
• Also all necessary documents attached.
• The applicant can then submit the form at the same temple office.
• The list of shortlisted bidders will be published by the due date.
