You can easily update your PAN card online. If you have the required internet credentials (digital signature certificate or Aadhaar eKYC), you can finish the process online.

You have the option of completing the online process without using paper. If not, you can fill out the form online and deliver the supporting papers together with the acknowledgment slip to the nearest document collecting center.

Process to Change Photo and Signature in PAN Card Online

• Visit the NSDL’s official website.
• Choose ‘Request for New PAN Card Or/And Changes or Corrections in PAN Data’ as the Application Type.
• Choose ‘Individual’ as the category.
• Please provide your surname, mobile number, PAN number, email address, and birth date.
• Enter the Captcha code provided and then click the ‘Submit’ button.
• Your application will be assigned a temporary token number.
• Choose the method by which you want to send your papers.
• Next, pick the checkbox in the column on the left under the section ‘Photo Mismatch.’
• Only by checking the box can your photo be edited or modified.
• Remember to include the information from your current PAN card as well as evidence of PAN allocation.
• You will then be required to provide documents, including a photograph. Once you have all of the required documents and information, submit the application form.
• You will then be prompted to make a Rs. 101 payment. This can be achieved through internet banking, credit cards, debit cards, or demand drafts.
• If you use net banking, you will incur a payment gateway surcharge of Rs.4 + service tax.
• Following payment, your application will be transmitted for approval, and you will receive an email with an acknowledgment number.

• Fill the online application form by following the instructions given in the ‘Changing your photo online in your PAN card’ section.
• Select ‘No.’ under ‘For Paperless PAN Application’.
• Complete the application form.
• Pay Rs 107 by netbanking, credit card, debit card, or demand draft.
• The receipt will then be emailed to you.
• Print out the acceptance letter and attach two recent photos.
• The image on the white background measures 3.5 cm by 2.5 cm.
• It’s not recommended to staple or wrap the image on the form. Pictures must go where they are.
• You are not allowed to sign a photo.
• Submit the printed acknowledgment and any relevant proofs to the PAN service unit for income tax purposes.

• Submit your application and pay the required fee. Credit cards, debit cards, internet banking and demand drafts are all acceptable forms of payment. If you use online banking, keep in mind that you will be charged Rs 4 + service tax (for payment gateway function).
• You will receive an email with an acknowledgment number to confirm the payment. This number can be used to check the status of the Pan application.
