Telangana Arogya Lakshmi Scheme :- As you all must know that there are many women across the country who are suffering from malnutrition during pregnancy and scientific evidence confirms the effect of malnutrition irreversible after 2 to 3 years.

Therefore, the government is developing programs for pregnant and lactating women to prevent malnutrition. Today we will give you information about a scheme launched by Telangana government called Arogya Lakshmi Yojana.

Telangana government has launched Arogya Lakshmi Scheme. Under this scheme, pregnant and lactating women are given one complete meal including iron and folic acid supplements at anganwadi centres.

This arrangement ensures that food is served everywhere. The Telangana government launched the scheme on February 1, 2013.

Implementation And Monitoring Of Arogya Lakshmi

  • Anganwadi and ASHA workers will identify the target group
  • The registration of beneficiaries will be expedited through anganwadi and ASHA workers in anganwadi centres
  • Anganwadi workers will also conduct house-to-house surveys and identify the target group and make a list
  • MCP cards will be issued to all beneficiaries on the Village Health Nutrition Day
  • This process will provide important insights
  • All the beneficiaries will be connected so that they can access one complete meal along with other health and nutrition services at anganwadi centres
  • The Angawadi center will provide one complete meal on the premises for 25 days
  • 30 eggs per month will be provided
  • They will drink milk for 25 days
  • And for the next 5 days, milk is served as curd with rice and dal during meals
  • Anganwadi helper cooks and serves meals at the centre
  • In the absence of Anganwadi assistant, the cooking is done by a person identified by ALMSC
  • The government is going to give all anganwadi workers a regular advance of Rs 1,500 for all anganwadi workers at the commencement of the programme
  • This amount will be released by the 5th of every month
  • Depending on the local circumstances, the ration will be decided by the resource management and support committee at the Anganwadi level
  • Iron and folic acid supplements will be provided to the beneficiaries
  • All pregnant and nursing mothers will be monitored and grown monthly
  • After that time, the birth weight of the newborn will be recorded on NSP forms and registration forms
Arogya Lakshmi
  • A meeting will be arranged between Anganwadi Level Monitoring and Support Committee, Project Level Monitoring Committee and District Level Monitoring and Review Committee, Anganwadi Worker Monitoring etc. to discuss the implementation of the scheme
  • Training and awareness campaigns are also conducted under this scheme
  • They will be responsible for program monitoring, training, capacity building, networking, community mobilization and periodic service delivery
  • At least 2 NGOs will be involved in each district to implement this programme
  • The implementation will be monitored by 1 cine portal b E District Level Monitoring and Review Committee of ICDS
  • In case of deficient or substandard food items, the CDPO and the supervisor of that particular project will be held responsible and action will be initiated
  • The State Level Inspection Officer from the Department Head of Department inspects at least 5 projects and 15 Anganwadi Centers in a month in his assigned district
  • ICDS will supervise and supervise the staff of the scheme
