Gruha Lakshmi Yojana :-Recently it was announced that the Legislative Assembly in Karnataka is introducing the Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Yojana in an effort to empower women and improve gender equality.

On March 18, 2022, the state Senate president D.K. Sivakumar introduced the scheme which aims to provide financial assistance to women in the state who are heads of households.

An initiative called the Gruha lakshmi Yojana aims to reduce the financial uncertainty faced by many women who are the primary breadwinners in their homes.

The program provides a stipend of Rs.1000 to deserving women. 2,000 per month for one year. About 2 lakh women in the country are expected to benefit from the scheme.

The functions of the domestic laxmi money benefit scheme of the Karnataka government are scheduled to start on August 30 in Mysore.

Through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), the state government will pay Rs 2,000 per month to women heads of households enrolled under the scheme.

The Maharaja College grounds in Mysore will be the venue for the opening ceremony. Women and Child Welfare Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar told a press conference in Mysuru that the cash disbursement scheme aims to empower women and list 1.9 lakh people as beneficiaries.

He said transfers of Rs 2,000,000 to beneficiaries’ accounts would begin after the season.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shiv Kumar, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and others will attend the inaugural function.
