The West Bengal government has launched the West Bengal Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme to provide special income support to women heads of households.

Through this scheme, the government is going to provide Rs 500 per month to all class families and Rs 1,000 per month to SC/ST families.

About 1.6 lakh households in West Bengal will benefit from the scheme. The baseline of this scheme is the monthly expenditure of a household which is Rs 5249.

If financial assistance is provided through this scheme, 10% to 20% of the monthly income of the beneficiary will be paid Using the rate of benefit with policy under this will directly deposit the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme Rules And Guidelines

The guidelines and rules for West Bengal Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme have been promulgated by the government of West Bengal.

Through this scheme, the government is going to provide a monthly stipend of Rs 500 to poor families for on 30 July.

This plan will be implemented from September 1st. It may be noted that the scheme was included in the election manifesto of the Trinamool Congress.

Under this scheme, all eligible female heads of households will receive basic income support. The financial benefit will be transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account. About 1.60 households in West Bengal will benefit from the scheme.

Rules And Guidelines Of West Bengal Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme

• Benefit rates under this scheme will be paid from September
• The beneficiaries can get free application forms from the official camps being conducted across the state
• Applications can be made from 16 August to 15 September
• All the applicants are required to submit all required documents including Aadhaar card and bank account passbook along with the application form
• Families with at least one taxpaying member are not eligible for this program
• Even women belonging to the general category who own more than 2 acres of land cannot apply under this scheme
• The benefit amount will be deposited directly into the beneficiary’s bank account
• The Aadhaar number of the beneficiary should be linked to the bank account
• Women permanent residents of West Bengal and aged between 25 and 60 years can apply under this scheme
• Women with permanent jobs in the private and public sectors are not eligible for the benefits of this scheme
