TN RTE Admission 2023-24: Online Registration @ rte.tnschools.gov.in, School List

TN RTE Admission:- From April 20, parents in Tamil Nadu can fill online application for admission to private schools under the Right to Education (RTE) Act. As per the admission schedule issued by the Directorate of Private Schools, the last date for submitting applications is May 18.

It can be done by applying in writing at rte.tnschools.gov.in. Details of accepted and rejected applications will be posted on the website on May 21.

If schools receive more applications than seats, a lottery will be held on May 23. The shortlist will be announced on May 24 . Students must register by May 29th.

TN RTE Admission 2023-24

The Government of India has implemented the Right to Education (RTE) Act in every state including Tamil Nadu. 25% of the places in private schools should be reserved under the RTE Act for students from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds.

So from 2023 onwards, residents of Tamil Nadu who want to apply for this scheme can do so.

As per the RTE Act, private schools are required to reserve 25 per cent of their open seats (LKG and Class I) for students from economically and socially disadvantaged groups. There are around 8,000 private schools with over 94,000 seats available for RTE quota this year.

Objective Of TN RTE Admission

The main objective of TN RTE Admission is to provide free and compulsory education to all children.

With the help of this scheme, students from economically weaker sections and underprivileged groups can get free education till the age of 14. The Tamil Nadu RTE admission scheme will also boost the literacy rate of the state.

Moreover, effective implementation of this scheme will also create employment as more students will be able to access education.

Priority has been given to improving the lives of children with disabilities, self-care sanitation workers and those infected with HIV through this programme.

Benefits and Features Of Tamil Nadu RTE Admission

• The TN RTE Admission Scheme has been launched by the Tamil Nadu government to provide free and compulsory education.
• Through this program, free and compulsory education is provided to every child up to their 14th birthday

TN RTE Admission Eligibility Criteria

• The applicant should be a permanent resident of Tamil Nadu
• All the parents falling in the category of financially weak, disadvantaged group, special group without group children can apply under this scheme
• Preferences will be given to disabled children, waste management centers and HIV positive
• The annual income of the family cannot exceed Rs 2 lakh
• The date of birth of the child must be between 31st July 2017 and 31st July 2018 for admission to LKG
• The child’s date of birth must be between 31st July 2015 and 31st July 2016 to be eligible for the first grade
• BC-Other, MBC, ST, SC-Other, SC-Arunthathiyar, OC, DNC (Denotified communities), social studies applicants whose social studies are not specified are eligible to apply

• Aadhaar card or ration card issued by parent or guardian
• Income certificates of weak section candidates
• Community Certificate issued to disadvantaged group wishing to hold elections

• Certificate of scavenger’s ward (if applicable).
• Certificate of children of HIV-infected parents (if applicable).
