Sikkim Skilled Youth Startup Scheme:- Under this scheme, the state government will help unemployed people to get loans so that they can start employment generating businesses.

Launched on March 15, 2017, the Chief Minister’s Startup Scheme aims to encourage local youth who are currently unemployed.

These will also include school leavers, as well as self-employment opportunities to create new jobs in rural and urban areas of the country.

The scheme is to promote innovative known start-ups in industry and service sectors, such as agriculture, horticulture, food processing, animal husbandry, handicrafts, etc.

Financial assistance from any PSU Banking Institution or Front End Scheme for bank development approved by the PSU Bank is an admissible financial contribution of 25% of the approved cost of the banking project

  • To enhance the entrepreneurial spirit of the unemployed and school dropouts of the country’s local youth.
  • Influence such eligible students of the scheme to form basic economic careers as careers in any sector including agriculture/horticulture/ food processing/livestock etc. in the country.
  • To instill confidence in local students by providing an enabling environment and an early financial grip for their future social and economic success.
  • To create employment opportunities in both rural and urban areas of the country.

Sikkim Skilled Youth Startup Scheme Points

  • Startups in manufacturing or service sector including agriculture/horticulture/ handicrafts etc. are eligible under the scheme.
  • Expenditure of 25% of the financially successful sanctioned projects in providing financial assistance to the front organizer for each PSU financial institution/PSU bank-approved as banking project.
  • Exclusion of non-manufacturing enterprises, such as taxicab services, which are not eligible for centralized assistance under the loan-to-credit assistance scheme due to project cost limitations, the project not included, etc. therefore, is promotional. Approximately 35% of the approved banking project costs under the CMSS are eligible for grant-financing.
  • For non-construction projects, the promoter’s CMSS contribution is 25% of the allowable cost of the bankable project.
  • No manufacturing/manufacturing/selling of cigarettes/ cigarettes/ gutka etc. and use of tobacco as raw material is permitted in CMSS
  • The recycling of polyethylene carrier bags less than 20 microns in width, as well as plastic carrier containers or containers prohibited in the jurisdiction, is not permitted in the CMSS

  • The applicant should be a genuine child of the community with Identity Certificate or Sikkim Subject Certificate/ Identity Certificate issued to the parents of the applicant.
  • The candidate must be unemployed.
  • Candidates must have passed fifth class from a recognized institution.
  • Only one family member is eligible to take advantage of the program.
  • Candidates should be between 15 and 40 years of age on the date of submission of application.
  • The program gives priority to local unemployed children from BPL households or rural areas.
  • Candidates must have a current commercial driver’s license to participate in certain service area activities.
  • The applicant must have a current business license issued by the appropriate authority to start a manihari or grocery store.
  • Candidates must complete a minimum three-month certification program from a professional organization in order to open a new retail store or beauty salon.

Sikkim Skilled Youth Startup Scheme Form

  • South-West Sikkim aspirants can apply at DIC (S/W) in Jorethang.
  • All candidates should submit a completed application form along with a complete project report and other required documents to the Executive Officer of the above mentioned offices.
