Sikkim Aama Yojana for Sikkim :- The Government of Sikkim has developed a number of schemes aimed at improving the lives of women, as well as other schemes specially designed for women.
Ama Yojana 2023 is the name of a new scheme introduced by Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang for non-working mothers in the state, especially those not working outside the home. The state government is now providing assistance to unemployed mothers living in the state.

About Sikkim Aama Yojana 2023
On the occasion of 75 years of independence of Sikkim, the Chief Minister of Sikkim launched various schemes for the welfare of women.
With the help of this scheme, the state government will help promote the practice of saving among the non-working mothers currently residing in the state.

The state government will deposit Rs 20,000 in mothers’ savings accounts every year. In the current financial year, the government has sanctioned a budget of Rs 32 crore to ensure effective implementation of this special scheme.
The main goal of implementing this system is to help people contribute to their own well-being with their money. The program is presented as a way to show society’s respect for women.
To participate in this program, all needy persons who wish to avail the benefits provided herein, must submit an application.
On launching this scheme, the Chief Minister said that the scheme would generate a total revenue of Rs. She expressed hope that the Rs 100 crore from the budget would encourage unemployed stay-at-home women to adopt the habit of saving.
Under the ‘Bahini’ scheme, girls in class 9 and above will get free sanitary napkins. About 18,000 girls in the state attend class 9 and above.
She added in a press release that the state aims to install sanitary napkin vending machines in schools to improve menstrual health and hygiene awareness.

The higher authorities did not give advice on the application process as the Ama Yojana Scheme would be introduced by the Chief Minister. Currently, the LMS Scheme portal is not accessible.
