Mukhya Mantri Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme :- On 20 September 2023, the Cabinet meeting approved the launch of the Prime Minister Atmanirbhar Asom Abhiyan by the Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The Assam government is committed to creating employment opportunities for the unemployed youth of the state, and it is in this context that the government has always introduced ambitious schemes that can help achieve this goal.

Mukhya Mantri Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme 2023 (মুখ্য মন্ত্ৰী আত্মনিৰভৰ অসম আঁচনি)

Mukhya Mantri Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme is the latest attempt by the Assam government to improve employment opportunities. Financial assistance will be provided through the Mukhya Mantri Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme.

Along with grants, and interest-free loans to be repaid after five years, the government will also provide financial assistance to 2 million eligible applicants over two years.

The grant of Rs. The award winners would be given Rs 10,000 for the training period. Selected grantees will also attend a month-long training program to develop their business, accounting and management skills.

Mukhya Mantri Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme Objective

The Mukhya Mantri Atmanirbhar Asom project aims to connect with 2 lakh qualified individuals during the following two years.

The first phase will focus on supporting 100,000 people in FY 2023-2024, and the second phase will support an additional 100,000 people in FY 2024-2025.

This bold initiative reflects the government’s commitment to reduce unemployment and boost Assam’s economic growth.

Mukhya Mantri Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme Loan and Repayment Details

Mukhya Mantri Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme will benefit 2 lakh people in the next two years. 1 lakh awardees will get Rs 1 lakh in FY 2023–2024, and Rs 2 lakh in the next financial year, based on performance. Since the loan is subsidized by the government, no interest will be added to the principal amount.

Beneficiaries are not obligated to repay the loan until five years have passed. It is not yet known how long the loan will be or when it will be repaid.

To improve their business, accounting and management skills, selected applicants will also undergo a month-long training programme.

Without a well-planned program, the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom scheme cannot be effectively implemented. An online registration platform designed to facilitate the process will be launched on September 23, 2023.
