Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena or AP VVD Scheme is for the benefit of children and was initiated by the Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Jaganmohan Reddy to enable children to get quality education.

The Child Support Program provides special financial assistance to poor families so that their children can attend good schools and start their careers there. This system is called Navaratnalu.

The Andhra Pradesh government has announced the release of ₹45.53 crore under the Jaganna Videshi Vidya Dive. About 357 students who have secured admission to top 50 universities abroad will benefit from the scheme.

The funds will be transferred to the beneficiaries’ mother’s bank account. Under this scheme, about Rs 1.25 crore will be distributed to SC, ST, BC and minority students and about Rs 1 crore to EBC students.

An MBA at the University of Chicago’s Booth school of Business costs about ₹1.32 crore; 1.02 crore for MS course at Manchester University;1.16 crore for MBA course at Tepper School of Carnegie Mellon University;1.13 crore for MBA at London Business School and MS.

Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena Objectives

Established by the federal government to benefit in-state students, the program’s main goal is to help students from low-income families pursue their careers at international universities outside the state.

Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena Benefits 

• The scheme provides financial assistance to students who wish to study abroad.
• The top 200 universities in each of the mentioned countries are eligible to participate in this program.
• Under the scheme, funds, or payments, allocated to help students, are digitally credited to their bank accounts in various stages.
• The state government has committed to cover all tuition fees in all the top 100 institutions.
• It can also be used by a student who wants to go through the visa process. Under this, the government will offer the cheapest one-way ticket with valid visa and entry details.
• As part of the scheme, the government will pay half the tuition fees for colleges numbering between 101 and 200. The amount of about Rs 50 crore per student will be paid and distributed in four installments.

Eligibility Criteria

• The eligibility requirements are as follows: The student applying for the program must be from economically disadvantaged communities such as SC, ST, or Kapu communities.
• The family income should be less than Rs 8 lakh. If it is more then the applicant is not eligible for the scheme.
• Age must be less than 36 years.
• The applicant should be a permanent resident of Andhra Pradesh.
• To qualify, students must have a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or intermediate or at least 60%, the government said.
• At the time of admission, candidates should submit their Intermediate certificate/related Graduate Degree or PG/Ph.D. for MBBS programmes. Lessons learned.
• Higher education should be divided into two categories – those of one-year duration and those of one-and-a-half-year duration
• This policy can only be used once in a person’s lifetime.
• Australia, Denmark, United Kingdom, Canada, Singapore, Germany, New Zealand, Sweden, Netherlands, France, Russia, USA, Philippines, Kazakhstan, and China (Philippines, Kazakhstan, and China for medical programs only) are being considered for this project .
