Therefore, the government is developing programs for pregnant and lactating women to prevent malnutrition.

Benefits And Features Of Arogya Lakshmi Scheme
- Telangana government has launched Arogya Lakshmi Yojana
- Pregnant and lactating mothers are given one complete meal including iron and folic acid supplements at anganwadi centre
- This arrangement ensures that food is served everywhere
- Arogya Lakshmi Yojana has been launched on 1st February
- The scheme will be implemented through 31897 main anganwadi centers and 4076 smaller anganwadi centers in the state
- 1 complete meal consists of rice, leafy dal/sambar and vegetables for at least 25 days.Boiled potatoes and 200 ml of milk for 30 days a month
- This diet will meet 40% to 45% of calories, 40% to 45% of daily protein and calcium requirements
- 16 eggs per month for children aged 7 months to 3 years and 30 eggs per month for children aged 3 to 6 years

Objective Of Arogya Lakshmi Scheme
The main objective of the Arogya Lakshmi scheme is to prevent malnutrition among pregnant and lactating.
Through this scheme, one full meal at the Anganwadi Centre is provided to pregnant and lactating women in order to fulfill their nutritional needs. This scheme also eliminates anemia among women.
Other than that incidence of low birth babies and malnutrition among children will also be controlled through this scheme.
This scheme will also provide facilities for health check-ups and immunization to pregnant and lactating women. Through Arogya Lakshmi Scheme, the incidence of infant mortality and maternal mortality will also be reduced.
