The state government will provide interest subsidy under the “Apun Bahan” scheme on vehicle loans obtained through Scheduled Commercial Banks, Regional Rural Banks and Assam Cooperative Shikhar Bank recognized by the Reserve Bank of India. Government employees now get interest-subsidized car loans.

Eligibility Criteria of Scheme
Regular state government employees between the ages of 21 and 53 are eligible for the scheme. This ensures that the employee’s service period coincides with the maximum loan term of 7 years.
Objectives of Scheme
The “Apun Bahan” scheme has been implemented by the Government of Assam for the benefit of Assam Government employees.According to this scheme, government employees are eligible for 2% interest subsidized vehicle loan. This will be increased to 3% for women and disabled civil servants. 12 million was allocated for this.
Features of Apun Bahan Scheme Assam
- If male employees buy a diesel or petrol car, they will get 2% interest subsidy. For electric vehicles, the incentive increases to 3%. Women employees and employees with disabilities will get 3% interest subsidy for every vehicle purchased.
