Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday announced Rs 87 crore for the YSR Shaadi Tohfa and YSR Kalyanamastu schemes, which will help 12,132 eligible women get married in the January-March 2023 quarter.
Minority beneficiaries, including persons with disabilities and construction workers belonging to SC, ST and BC, will have these funds immediately transferred to their bank accounts.
The YSR Shadi Tohfa Program has been implemented mainly for the welfare of Muslim women to use the funds for their marriages.
YSR Kalyanmastu Yojana provides financial assistance to married daughters of poor households in the state. The objective of the project, besides providing financial support to women, is to change parents’ attitudes towards their children’s education by requiring 10 Apprentices to implement the programme.

YSR Kalyanamasthu Scheme Benefits
- Financial assistance of Rs 1.2 lakh will be provided for SC and ST benefits if there is inter-caste marriage.
- SC and ST bodies will usually get benefits around Rs 1 lakh.
- BC beneficiaries who marry inter-caste will get Rs 75,000.
- BCs will get Rs 50,000.
- 1.5 lakh for disabled beneficiaries.
- Under this scheme, two construction workers will be given Rs 40,000 for marriage.

- The average electricity production should be less than 300 units per month. Beneficiaries must not be children of government employees.
- No one in his beneficiary family will receive a pension.
- Applicants must not own any four-wheel drive vehicle.
- Children cannot pay income tax.
