Through this initiative, there will be minor changes in the tools and their way of life used by handloom weavers in Telangana. Their financial situation will improve. This system involves converting pit screens into canvas.

Telangana Chenetha Maggam Scheme 2023
On National Handloom Day, Telangana’s Handloom Minister presented a special gift to the weavers of the state. On August 7, 2023, on the occasion of Handloom Day, the program was announced by Handloom Minister Kalavkuntal Chandrashekhar Rao.
All hand weavers in Telangana state will get new machines as part of this scheme. All used equipment will be replaced with new equipment. The government will also issue certificates to the weavers of handicrafts.
The main reason for starting this scheme is to upgrade textile handicrafts and their craftsmanship. In line with this plan, the government will convert pit looms into frame looms.
The government has retired the age of manual weaving from 59 to 75. This scheme will replace all machinery and will cost RS RS 38,000 each. If a craft dies due to any reason, Rs 5 lakh will be credited to the family account within 10 days.
