Telangana Nethanna Bima Scheme:- The Telangana state government is implementing a new scheme to help people. As part of this, Telangana is launching a new scheme called Nethanna Bima Scheme.
The Handloom Weavers Scheme modifies insurance coverage for handloom weavers, so this scheme is really only for handloom weavers.

Telangana Nethanna Bima Scheme (తెలంగాణ నేతన్న బీమా పథకం)
On August 7, 2022, Nethanna Ku Bima will be released. Telangana Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister also announced the state plan.
This initiative will be launched on August 7 as it is National Handloom Weaving Day and will benefit handloom weavers.
Under this arrangement, the government will pay the insurance premium. If the person we were insuring dies due to illness or accident while the policy is in force. Up to Rs 5 lakh will be provided to the nominee or family through insurance.
With some insurance policies, it takes a long time for the subscriber to send the money. However, a nominee under this scheme will have only 10 days after the death of the beneficiary to get Rs 5 lakh.
The Handloom and Textiles department of the nodal agency is in charge of this process and will comply with any requirements. The government has earmarked Rs 50 crore for this scheme and has already allocated Rs 25 crore or 50% of it.
As part of this, the state government will set up the Nethannabima scheme similar to the Rithu Bhima scheme.
This will provide economic security to the weaving families. Thus, Telangana is famous for handloom weavers, with around 80,000 handloom weavers under this insurance scheme.
The state government also supports artisans through two other schemes: Chenetha Mitra Scheme and Nethanna Ku Cheyutha. Under one scheme, the state government provides 40 per cent subsidy to artisans.
Under another scheme, the state government provides 16 per cent financial assistance to artisans as the state’s share of the 8 per cent savings paid by workers in the sector. But these programs can only help registered handloom weavers.

The main objective of this program is that the state government wants to improve the existing insurance coverage for handloom weavers in the state.

Telangana Nethanna Bima Scheme Benefits
- Any weaver between the ages of 18 and 59 is covered by this insurance scheme, known as the Weaver Scheme.
- As per the provisions of this scheme, the amount of Rs 5,00,000 is distributed retrospectively to the preferred family or nominee
- The proceeds of the insurance policy are frozen ten days after the person’s death.
- For this initiative to be successful, committees at the national, as well as district level, must be involved and supportive.

- To be considered for participation in the Nethanna Ku Insurance Plan, a person must meet and comply with the following requirements.
- Telangana citizenship or residence required to submit the application form. If the applicant is from another state, they cannot participate in the program because the program is not available to them.
- The applicant is required to have previous experience as a participant in Raythu Bima Insurance Scheme.
- Only weavers who are older and between the ages of 18 and 59 are eligible to apply for this program.
