Benefits of the Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme
- To encourage wider use of electric vehicles (EVs), the Ministry of Heavy Industries is launching the INR 500 Cr Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme 2024 (EMPS 2024).
- This EMPS 2024 program will last for four months, from April 1, 2024 to July 31, 2024, at a total cost of CR500.
- A subsidy of up to Rs 25,000 will be provided for small three-wheelers (e-rickshaws and e-karts).
- About 41,000 of these vehicles are being incentivized under the scheme.
- The maximum financial subsidy for a tricycle size is Rs 50,000

Features of Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme
- EMPS 2024 offers financial incentives to consumers who purchase two- and three-wheel electric vehicles.
- EMPS 2024 aims to support around 3.33 lakh two-wheelers by providing each up to Rs 10,000 as subsidy.
- More than 41,000 vehicles will benefit up to Rs 25,000 in small three-wheelers like e-rickshaws and e-karts. Financial assistance for three-wheelers can go up to Rs 50,000.
