Bangla Pension Scheme:- In order to help the poor people of West Bengal as a whole, the Chief Minister of West Bengal has launched a new scheme called West Bengal Joy Bangla Pension Scheme.

The Joy Bangla Pension Scheme in West Bengal has been launched in a phased manner. These two separate strategies will help the socially backward sections of our society

belonging to SCs and STs. The scheme launched for SCs is known as Taposali Bandhu Pension Scheme. The scheme launched for Scheduled Tribes is known as Jai Johar Scheme. Both of these programs will benefit different ethnic groups in the community.

Benefits Of Joy Bangla Pension Scheme

The West Bengal Bangla Pension Scheme has many benefits announced by Mr. Amit Mitra, Finance Minister, West Bengal.

For the first time, two schemes will be launched under the West Bengal Joy Bangla Scheme which is a single parent scheme.

Residents of West Bengal will be given two separate schemes so that they can benefit from the scheme separately. There are different incentives under each program.

Incentives Under The Scheme

• In Taposali Bandhu Pension Scheme Rupees 600 will be provided to all of the beneficiaries.
• In the Jai Johar scheme Rupees, 1000 will be provided to all of the beneficiaries.

Joy Bangla Pension Scheme Eligibility Criteria

• The applicant should be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
• Applicant must belong to BPL category.
• Applicant must belong to SC or ST community.
• Applicant should not be above 60 years of age
• The applicant should not be enrolled in any other pension scheme of West Bengal

Features of WB Joy Bangla Pension Scheme

• The beneficiaries will receive the benefits directly in their bank accounts
• The government is soon going to launch a different approach to this scheme
• Approximately The Plan will benefit 2.1 million people in the country
• Any SC/ ST member who is an old age/ widow/ PwD can apply.
• However, the budget is not completed by the government

In Case Of Death

• In the event of the death of the pensioner and upon due receipt of such claims, the Department shall take steps to terminate the pension.
• In case of death of the pensioner, the amount due will be paid to the nominee as indicated in the application form.

• You can also get this application form from your nearest government offices.
• Download the application form directly to your computer by clicking

• Take a printout of the application form and fill in information such as the beneficiary’s name, gender, DOB, age, father’s name, mother’s name, race and more.
• Then, attach the cards as listed
• You should send your completed application to the following offices according to your occupation:
• Block Development Officer if the applicant lives in rural areas
• In the case of the petitioner, the Sub-Divisional Officer resides in the Municipal / Notified Areas outside the Kolkata Municipal Corporation areas
• Commissioner of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation if the applicant resides in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation area.

• The application form should be filled with specific information contained in Block form only
• Remember to set the mandatory characters
• Just send a personally certified copy of the documents
• Be sure to include a passport-sized photo on the application form

Selection Procedure Of Joy Bangla Pension Beneficiary

• The BDO/SDO or KMC Commissioner will scrutinize the applications
• The eligibility of the applicants will be verified under the scheme.
• All physically stored relevant documents should be digitized and uploaded on the state portal through BDO/SDO 0R Commissioner of KMC.
• BDOs and SDOs will digitally recommend the names of eligible persons to the District Magistrate through the State Portal.
• The District Magistrate will then forward it to the nodal department.
• Commissioner, KMC will recommend the names of eligible persons to the nodal department directly through the national portal.
• The nodal department will sanction the pension
• The payment will be made directly to the beneficiary’s bank account through the WBIFMS portal.
• The national portal will be integrated with WBIFMS for seamless pension disbursement
• Pension will be paid on 1st of every month.
